Time Trials

Please note that bike sessions, unless accompanied by a qualified coach, are not covered by the Club insurance. Participation is at your own risk. Riders must wear a cycle helmet at all sessions listed and all bikes must be roadworthy. We advise carrying your emergency contact details on all rides.

 Summer Time Trials

Usually each summer we run a series of bike time trials and hope to restart these in 2022. Work on HS2 will mean a new route which will be announced nearer the time.

These events are intended for all members no matter how fast or slow – they are not a race but a test of your fitness and, by cycling the same route over the summer, you can see how your fitness progresses. All you need to take part is a roadworthy bike and a helmet. Don’t worry if you don’t know what you’re doing – we will be there to help.

At the end of the summer there will be prizes for the fastest male and female Club members and for the most improved. To qualify for the prizes you will need to complete at least 3 events. There will also be a special prize for anyone completing all six.

Rules:
Everyone taking part must wear a helmet.
The session will be on public roads so traffic will take priority and the Highway Code will apply.
Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the session.
This session will not be covered by Club insurance. Members take part entirely at their own risk.
